Processed locally on your device. Your images are never uploaded.
100% private. Faces are detected and hidden right on your device — your photos are never uploaded or seen by anyone but you, and stay on this device until you remove them. Downloads are re-encoded with all metadata removed (EXIF, GPS location, camera details).
Frequently asked questions
How do I hide children’s faces in photos before sharing them?
Drop your photos above — PixelFace automatically finds every face and covers it with pixelation, blur, a black bar, or an emoji. Perfect for school, kindergarten, or sports-club photos where other people’s kids are in the picture: review each photo, then download and share safely. If a face was missed, add a cover by hand in two taps.
Can I blur faces in photos online for free, without uploading them?
Yes. PixelFace is free and runs entirely in your browser — the face detection and the blurring/pixelating happen on your own device. Your photos are never uploaded to any server; the app even works with the network switched off.
Does PixelFace remove metadata like GPS location (EXIF)?
Yes, automatically. Every downloaded photo is freshly re-encoded, which strips all metadata: GPS location, capture time, camera model, and any other EXIF data. What you share contains only the pixels you see — nothing about where or how the photo was taken.
What if a face isn’t detected automatically?
Open the photo and tap “Edit faces”: draw a box over anything you want covered — a missed face, a name tag, a license plate — and move, resize, or delete boxes freely. You can also raise the detection sensitivity in the Options.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes — PixelFace works in any modern mobile browser, can take photos straight from your camera, and can be added to your home screen as an app. After the first visit it also works completely offline.
